With increased competition for admission to colleges and universities, San Joaquin Memorial makes it a top priority to equip its students with 21st century skills that will help them stand out and succeed in an ever-changing, digital-age learning world.
In this day of societal change, SJM is dedicated to preparing its students with a rigorous core academic foundation and a 1:1 tablet-based learning environment. In addition, students are routinely engaged in collaborative learning opportunities that involve teamwork, creativity, higher order critical thinking and problem-solving exercises. All of these integral skills are coupled with the students’ ability to demonstrate communication and presentation competency.
In addition to academically prepared students, college and university recruitment representatives are seeking well-rounded, holistic students: those involved in more than one sport/activity; have held a part-time job while in high school (displaying a strong work ethic); and have volunteered with a service oriented organization during their high school career. At San Joaquin Memorial, we encourage our students to seek out these valuable opportunities and more.
