Congratulations are in order for 23 juniors and seniors who were recently inducted into the San Joaquin Memorial High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. The students were selected by the Faculty Council based upon their scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
A formal induction ceremony was held for the inductees and their families on November 17 in the Media Center which included refreshments. Coordinating the ceremony, under the direction of NHS Advisor Mr. Mike Burke, were last year’s student inductees which included Michael Askins, Jamison Bailey, Joseph Bell, Chloe Bennett, Isabella Garcia, Kirsten “Chloe” Paraguya, Isabella Ray, Maya Safadi, Nathan Shimamoto, and Margaret Smith.
Faculty representative Michael Urrutia was invited to be the special guest speaker at the ceremony. His speech challenged the inductees to reach high and do great things for others.
