Making the Best of Learning from Home

SJM parent Anne Lewis is making sure her son Cole stays focused on school work at home. She converted her own office into an office for Cole, who is a freshman at SJM. The office features a plant, a class pet (a Beta fish named Harold) and folders and organization tools.

"I wanted Cole to be in a closed focused environment for optimal learning during these unprecedented times we live in currently," said Anne Lewis. "I bought a class plant and class pet to make it as real as possible for him. As the only student in the class he gets to feed the fish everyday, and he doesn't get lonely! What you can't see in the photo is the folders laid out on a table and labeled for each class. Just another organizational tool."

Cole is finding the environment helpful.

"This room helps keep me organized so I don't forget assignments," he said.
